VSE Electronic Bus Steering

VSE Electronic Bus Steering is an electrohydraulic steering system. It is a stand-alone system, with oil pressure provided by an electrically driven pump.

THE SYSTEM

THE SYSTEM

To enable a bus or coach to manoeuvre through busy cities and narrow streets, a steering system is required. Steering systems currently available in the market always seem to require compromises.

Our steering system makes the bus or coach more manoeuvrable than when it is not steered or uses a trailing axle.

FEATURES

FEATURES

  • Has no negative impact on the steering system for the front axle(s) in terms of required steering force, manoeuvrability or wheel deflection
  • Allows stationary steering
  • Steers based on the Ackermann principle (optimum steering behaviour)

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • Mechanically or electrically driven pump
  • The standard system consists of: steering cylinder, manifold block, accumulator, ECU, front angle sensor and rear angle sensor
  • Works with any type of steering axle up to 13 tonnes
  • Weight from 37 kg

EASY INSTALLATION

EASY INSTALLATION

  • Few components and automatic air bleeding, making it well-suited to assembly line installation
  • Semi-automatic system calibration

SAFETY

SAFETY

  • The steering system is speed-dependent: as the vehicle speed increases, the maximum steering angle is gradually reduced. At a certain speed the axle is fully centred and no longer steers
  • Unique safety concept based on the use of a dual-circuit cylinder design with active centring of the axle
  • The steering system has no negative impact on the steering system for the front axle(s) in terms of required steering force, manoeuvrability or wheel deflection
