More prepared self-steer axles for VSE Smart Steering available!

After Gigant, there are now self-steer axles from BPW and SAF that are factory-prepared for VSE’s smart Smart Steering auxiliary steering system.

VSE strives to develop its products as universally as possible. The prepared axles from BPW and SAF, which can be ordered from the respective manufacturer from now on, make wide application even easier. The axles are already provided by the manufacturers with the parts needed to assemble the system.

Smart Steering is an auxiliary steering system that ensures that the self-steer axle no longer locks when reversing, but allows the axle to steer automatically. Smart Steering also helps steer the axle to the correct angle when cornering forward. The result is greatly improved maneuverability, especially when maneuvering in reverse. The driver no longer has to make sure that the tractor is straight in line with the trailer to lock the axle. Furthermore, the trailer will turn with the same angle when driving forwards and backwards. 

The added value of Smart Steering is seen by more and more trailer manufacturers and transport companies. A number of trailer manufacturers already take into account the optional mounting of Smart Steering during the construction of their chassis, for example by mounting the correct welding plate for mounting the kingpin with sensor.
